Video chat camera not working?
A browser permission, device setting, or competing app can interrupt a video call. Work through these checks before trying matching again.
Open matchingReturn to the permission prompt
On FaceFlow Live, open the video matching flow and tap Allow when the in-app permissions sheet appears. Your browser may then show a separate camera and microphone prompt. Make sure that prompt belongs to faceflow.live before allowing it. If you dismissed or denied it earlier, the browser may remember that choice.
Check camera and microphone for this site
Look at the permission controls beside the address bar or in your browser’s site settings. Confirm that both camera and microphone are allowed for faceflow.live. Browser menus differ, so use the official guide for your browser linked below. A site permission and a device-level permission are separate switches.
- In Chrome, review Privacy and security → Site settings → Camera and Microphone.
- In Safari on iPhone, review this website’s settings and the Camera and Microphone choices.
- In Firefox, review the site permission icon or the Permissions settings.
Make sure the device can use the camera
If the browser is allowed but you still see a black image or an access error, check your operating system’s camera and microphone privacy controls. Confirm that the camera is connected, not covered by a hardware privacy shutter, and available to the browser. Another app using the camera can also interfere.
Restart the call flow
After changing a permission, leave the match flow and open it again. If needed, reload the tab or restart the browser. Try a different camera or microphone in browser settings when multiple devices are connected. If the problem persists, test your camera in another trusted app to tell a device issue from a website issue.
Only grant access when you mean to
Do not install a plug-in or enter a password just to resolve a camera permission prompt. Use your browser’s own settings. You can revoke camera and microphone access later; until it is restored, video chat may not work.
A little more clarity.
Why does FaceFlow still ask after I tapped Allow?
The in-app sheet and the browser permission are separate steps. Check whether your browser or device has blocked the camera or microphone for faceflow.live.
Why can I hear someone but not see video?
Audio can work while video is blocked or the wrong camera is selected. Check the camera permission, the selected device, and any physical camera shutter.
Can I change a previous Block decision?
Yes. Use your browser’s site permissions for faceflow.live and follow the official browser instructions below. Reload or restart the call flow afterward.
Should I allow access on a shared device?
Only if you are comfortable using that device and have checked what the camera can see or the microphone can hear. You can remove site permission later.
